YOUR DOCUMENTS & PRIVACY

Local PDF work.
Clear boundaries.

Your PDFs stay on your computer when you use VL PDF’s local tools. That is different from saying the application never connects to the internet.

YOUR COMPUTER

Open → work → save

Read, fill, sign, annotate, organise and recognise text locally. No document upload or account is needed for these tools.

INTERNET CONNECTIONS

Updates & downloads

The installed app can check for updates. Downloading a release contacts the service that hosts the installer.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Four different
kinds of information.

Your PDF files

Local tools process the document on your PC. You choose where to save the result. If you choose a folder synchronised by OneDrive or another service, that service’s own settings control synchronisation.

Update requests

An installed build configured for updates checks shortly after startup and when you choose Help → Check for Updates. The updater sends a random identifier associated with that installation to support staged releases; this is not PDF content. The hosting service also receives ordinary connection information such as an IP address.

Downloading and installing an update require your actions. Behaviour depends on the particular build and its update configuration.

Your visit to this website

This site has no PDF upload, added analytics or marketing cookies. Netlify delivers its pages and processes connection information. See our website privacy notice for the scope and external services.

A support conversation

If you email us, we receive what you send so we can respond. Start with your version number and a description. Use a made-up or non-sensitive sample if one is needed; do not send private documents, passwords or licence keys.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT TOOL

For your work.
Under your control.

Cloud storage and online approvals are not offered as live services here. This explanation covers the local desktop tools and the website; it is not a certification or a promise that every document workflow meets your organisation’s requirements.

Check the information accompanying your installed version and follow your organisation’s rules for sensitive documents. Keep an original copy and inspect your saved PDF before relying on it.

For privacy questions or to report a possible security issue, contact support@vl-pdf.com. Please describe the issue without attaching sensitive files.
